Almost one month after the initially-rumored release, BlackBerry Bold 9000 is finally available in Canada, as of today, August 21. As you probably already know, the Bold is offered in the North American country exclusively via Rogers Wireless, the largest Canadian mobile operator.

Rogers has not announced (yet) Bold's release, but the smartphone is available for purchase on its official website, at this address. According to the info found on Rogers' website, the new BlackBerry can also be found in the carrier's stores across Canada.

The price that Rogers is asking for the latest RIM-made handset is a bit weird. More exactly, the Bold costs $399 with the signing of a contract agreement for three years and a Voice / Data plan of at least $45 per month. The free-of-contract price, as well as the ones that come with an agreement for one or two years, are the same: $599.

Presented as the world's fastest BlackBerry, the Bold is, nevertheless, an attractive device, due to its look and capabilities.

In a case that measures 14 millimeters in thickness, Research in Motion has packed the following features: a wide 480 x 320 pixels TFT display, quad-band GSM connectivity, GPRS and EDGE, tri-band HSDPA connectivity, GPS, BlackBerry Maps, Wi-Fi, trackball navigation, a full QWERTY keyboard, full HTML browser, BlackBerry email solutions, BlackBerry Messenger, document viewer/editor, a 2 Megapixel camera (with auto focus, flash, 3x digital zoom and video recording), Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP BlackBerry Media Player, two pre-installed games (Brickbreaker and Word Mole), 1GB of internal memory and microSD card support for up to another 8GB.
