14 DAY TRIAL // Those who read George Orwell's famous Animal Farm novel might be familiar with the line "all animals are equal, but some are more equal than others" - obviously a metaphor for what's happening in the human society. Well, this is also applicable for mobile users, and the latest "proof" is related to RIM's new flagship smartphone, the BlackBerry Bold 9000.
While most of the BlackBerry fans are still eagerly waiting for the official release of the handset, some celebrities already have their own Bold. Until now, Celebrity BlackBerry Sightings spotted four famous people who each have a Bold 900 smartphone: Lindsay Lohan, Kate Hudson, Samantha Ronson and John Mayer.
The fact that John Mayer has a Bold is not that surprising, since the American singer and guitarist was chosen by RIM to appear in a commercial for the BlackBerry Curve smartphone. Moreover, Mayer's US tour is sponsored by RIM, so it looks like there's a strong friendship between the singer and the Canadian company. Mayer first made public the fact that he's the proud early owner of a Bold 9000 back in May, on one of his personal blogs.
After John Mayer, Kate Hudson (the LA-born actress) was also seen with a BlackBerry Bold, a red one, more exactly. The third known celebrity to have the new high-end smartphone is the pop singer, model and actress Lindsay Lohan. And, finally, a few days ago, the British DJ Samantha Ronson (made famous by MTV back in 2001) was also seen handling a BlackBerry Bold.
As for the Bold's release for those who are simple mobile users, RIM has not made any announcement yet. Rumors say the smartphone might become available at the end of this month in Canada, offered by Rogers, with US and Europe releases to follow shortly after. Let's hope this proves to be true.
