Regional carrier Cincinnati Bell has recently added the Bold 9900 and Torch 9860 to its portfolio of BlackBerry smartphones.

Customers can now purchase the Bold 9900 for $299.99 (220 EUR) or the Torch 9860 for $199.99 (145 EUR) after a $50 mail-in rebate with a two-year service agreement.

Both devices should offer the same performance experience, as they have been packed with RIM's latest technologies, including BlackBerry 7 operating system, Liquid Graphics and more.

A new browser based on WebKit is now available for both Bold 9900 and Torch 9860 users, which offers a faster experience.

With Liquid Graphics technology, the smartphones can deliver a more fluid and highly responsive touch screen experience.

The addition of these two 4G BlackBerry smartphones gives us the strongest handset line up we've ever had. Combine that with Cincinnati Bell's 4G wireless network and we're the best option for Cincinnatians looking to upgrade their phone,” says Mike Vanderwoude, vice president and general manager of Wireless at Cincinnati Bell.

On the inside, each handset is packed with a 1.2 GHz processor, 768 MB of RAM and a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and HD (720p) video recording capabilities.

When it comes to connectivity, Bold 9900 and Torch 9860 offer high data speeds via Cincinnati Bell's 4G network.

The main difference between the two devices is the lack of the traditional QWERTY keyboard from the Torch 9860, which, instead, offers an all-touch experience via its 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 16 million colors and 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

On the other hand, the BlackBerry Bold 9900 offers a high resolution (640 x 480 resolution) 2.8-inch LCD touch-screen, QWERTY keyboard as well as Near Field Communication (NFC) technology.

Both smartphones include built-in GPS with BlackBerry Maps, BlackBerry Balance, BlackBerry Protect, support for Augmented Reality apps including Wikitude and Voice Activated Universal Search.
