Unveiled back in August, RIM's BlackBerry Bold 9900 has finally arrived in Sweden and is now available from four authorized carrier partners, Tele2, Telenor, TDC Sweden and 3.

Touted the thinnest BlackBerry smartphone to date at only 10.5mm, Bold 9900 offers both worlds by combining the traditional portrait QWERTY keyboard and a touchscreen display.

In addition, the smartphone features built-in support for NFC (Near Field Communications) technology, which allows users to pair their smartphone with other NFC-enabled accessories or simply read NFC tags and get the information they need.

Aside its comfy keyboard, the device comes with a 2.8-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 16 million colors and 640 x 480 pixels resolution.

By combining the Liquid Graphics technology and the integrated 1.2 GHz blazing fast processor, BlackBerry Bold 9900 provides users a highly responsive touch interface with smooth graphics.

Software-wise, the smarthone is delivered with BlackBerry 7 operating system on board, which offers users a new advanced WebKit browser engine, significantly faster than any previous versions.

RIM managed to optimize zooming and panning for smoother web navigation, as well as the HTML5 performance, which provides better gaming and video experiences.

The phone is made of premium materials, which included brushed stainless steel frame and leather-like back cover. On the inside, the Bold 9900 packs 8 GB of internal memory, 768 MB of RAM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

On the back, the smartphone features a 5-megapixel photo snapper with LED flash and HD (720p) video recording capabilities.

According to RIM, the phone's 1230 mAh Li-Ion battery provides up to 307 hours of standby time or up to 6 hours of talk time.

On related news, RIM also announced that the BlackBerry Bold 9900 received its MasterCard Worldwide for PayPass mobile payments certifications, which means that any MasterCard PayPass-issuing bank can now deploy MasterCard PayPass-enabled accounts to the SIM card.
