One day after Rogers introduced the BlackBerry Bold 9790 in Canada, TELUS, Bell and Virgin Mobile announced the availability of the smartphone as well.
It looks like Bell and Virgin Mobile have the same deal on the Bold 9790, as customers can purchase the smartphone for as low as $99.99 (75 EUR) on a three-year agreement or for $430 (320 EUR) outright.
Additional price options are also available but they’re not really worth it: $379.95 (280 EUR) with a new two-year agreement and $404.95 (300 EUR) on a one-year term.
However,
TELUS priced the Bold 9790 a bit higher, as customer can purchase it for as low as $129.99 (95 EUR) with a new three-year plan or for $479.99 (355 EUR) off-contract.
Other price options offered by TELUS of the smartphone include: $379.99 (280 EUR) with a three-year contract and $429.99 (320 EUR) on a one-year term.
BlackBerry Bold 9790 was officially introduced two months ago, along with the Curve 9380, and is the latest BlackBerry 7 smartphone launched by Research in Motion (RIM).
RIM simply describes it as “smart and compact, the BlackBerry Bold 9790 smartphone offers a high resolution touchscreen and a physical keyboard.”
Even though it cannot match the Bold 9900 or Torch 9810, the Bold 9790 is still among the top tier smartphones launched by RIM this year, hence the high pricing.
On the inside, the Bold 9790 is equipped with a 1 GHz Marvel Tavor MG1 processor and packs 8 GB of internal memory, 768 MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
Aside the full portrait QWERTY keyboard, the handset offers the advantages of a 2.45-inch capacitive touchscreen display that boasts a 480 x 360 pixels resolution.
There’s also a 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, as well as NFC (Near Field Communication) and Wi-Fi support
