Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion has recently announced the launch of its BlackBerry Bold 9700 smartphone on the market in Japan. According to the company, the new device is set to offer a nice range of high-end communications and multimedia features to users, all packed inside a compact design that can prove a great option for both professional and personal use. The new device is already available for purchase via NTT docomo shops and through authorized retailers.

The new BlackBerry Bold 9700 comes to the market with support for 3G networks, with a next-generation (624 MHz) processor, a high-resolution display, a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper, Wi-Fi connectivity options, built-in GPS receiver, and more. Moreover, the new device includes support for BlackBerry Messenger, Twitter, Facebook and more, keeping users connected with their friends and family at all times.

Among the main features of the device, we can count: - Media player for videos, pictures and music (music play up to 38 hours), plus BlackBerry Media Sync for easily syncing photos as well as music from iTunes and Windows Media Player with the smartphone - BlackBerry Desktop Manager for both PCs and Macs to enable synching data such as contacts and calendar appointments between a computer and the smartphone - Access to BlackBerry App World, featuring a broad and growing catalog of mobile applications developed specifically for BlackBerry smartphones. The specifications list of the new handset also includes a 2.44-inch display that boasts a 480 x 360 pixel resolution, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g), 3.5 mm stereo headset jack, 256 MB of Flash memory, microSD/SDHD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space, Bluetooth 2.1 capabilities, and support for UMTS/HSDPA 2100/1900/850/800 MHz and quad-band EDGE/GPRS/GSM frequencies. The mobile phone measures 109 x 60 x 14.1 mm and weighs in at 4.3 oz (122 grams).
