Wireless carrier Sprint has just made a new smartphone available for purchase on its airwaves. It is none other than the BlackBerry Bold 9650 (formerly known as the Tour 2), which was announced officially only several weeks ago. The handset can be purchased from Sprint for $199.99 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement and after a $100 mail-in rebate, while those who do not want to commit to a service contract can purchase the device for $450.

The BlackBerry Bold 9650 comes to the market with 3G connectivity options, a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper with video recording capabilities, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g) capabilities, Bluetooth connectivity, support for CDMA, 2100 MHz UMTS/HSPA and quad-band EDGE/GPRS/GSM networks, a 3.5mm stereo headset jack, built-in GPS receiver, microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space, and a 1400 mAh battery that can deliver up to 5 hours of talk time, all packed inside a device that measures 4.4 x 2.4 x 0.6 inches and weighs in at 4.8 oz.

The handset sports a full QWERTY keyboard for fast typing, coupled with an optical trackpad for easy navigation through menus, boast web browser for Internet access, and offer users the possibility to download various applications from the BlackBerry App World.
