The BlackBerry Bold 2 has been finally made available for purchase in the United States via wireless carrier T-Mobile. Expected to become available for quite some time and already on shelves in other markets around the world, the Bold sequel from Research In Motion can now be acquired by BlackBerry enthusiasts in the US, priced at $199.99 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the mobile phone operator.

Most of you might be already familiar with what the BlackBerry Bold 2 (also known as Bold 9700) is set to deliver to the market. It comes as the fist BlackBerry handset from T-Mobile to include support for AWS 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, and it also sports an HVGA+ display, along with a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper with video recording capabilities, an optical trackpad, and support for visual voicemail.

Other features of the new device include messaging capabilities, such as instant messaging (Yahoo!, Windows Live, AIM), text, picture and video messaging, E-Mail integration options, Bluetooth connectivity, speakerphone, music player, a built-in QWERTY keyboard, support for games, and access to a wide range of applications through the BlackBerry App World.

The BlackBerry Bold 9700 measures 2.4 x 4.2 x 0.6 inches and weighs 4.3 ounces. It comes to the market with a 1500 mAh Lion battery, able to deliver up to 6 hours of talk time, or up to 15 days of standby time. It also sports a memory card slot for additional storage space, and T-Mobile will deliver it with a 2GB SD card included in the package.

Those who would like to purchase the new handset from T-Mobile, without committing to a two-year contract on the carrier's Even More plan, can purchase it with for $449.99 with an Even More Plus plan, case in which they can also finance the handset at $22 per month over 20 months.
