One of the software features that Canadian mobile phone maker BlackBerry is expected to make official in the not-too-distant future is BlackBerry Blend, and some more details on what it will have to offer have leaked online today.

According to a recent article on BBIN, this highly anticipated feature that the BlackBerry 10.3 OS update will arrive with will provide users with the possibility of enjoying seamless syncing of messaging and content between a smartphone and a PC or tablet.

Basically, it will enable users to easily access personal messages, notifications, documents, calendar, contacts, and media that are stored on the smartphone from a computer in real time.

The best part of the deal, however, is the fact that the new software will arrive with support for all major operating systems out there, which include Windows, Mac OS, iOS, and Android.

It will also provide access to BlackBerry File Manager, enabling users to easily transfer content between devices simply through drag & drop. There will also be on-screen notifications to alert users on incoming messages, chats, and updates.

According to the aforementioned news site, the software will include a series of other features and capabilities as well, such as:

- View and respond to some messages and chats from different accounts in the BlackBerry Hub. - Access your BBM chats, groups, and BBM Channels. - Access your text messages (SMS). - View your daily, weekly, or monthly agenda. - Create new calendar entries and change existing entries. - Copy and transfer your files between your device and computer or tablet.

On top of that, it will allow users to open a browser with a secure connection in order to access private information from their organization’s intranet, as long as the device is associated with a BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10.

BlackBerry Blend will also allow them to complete tasks that previously needed BlackBerry Desktop Software or BlackBerry Link.

Some of these include backing up and restoring device data, switching to another device, and copying pictures, videos, and music between a computer or tablet and a BlackBerry 10 device.

Apparently, BlackBerry Blend will make use of BlackBerry ID in order to ensure that the connection between the BlackBerry 10 device and the tablet or PC is secure. Users will be able to connect devices either via USB or over Wi-Fi networks.

BlackBerry Passport should be the first smartphone to offer support for BlackBerry Blend, and all the official details on the matter are expected to be revealed later this month, when said smartphone will be launched.
