Mobile phone users living in the UK and interested in the purchase of a new BlackBerry device should soon have the possibility to do so on the airwaves of wireless carrier Vodafone, which is reportedly gearing up for the launch of at least two new such phones, the 9780 and the Torch 9800.

Of course, the wireless services provider has just added another smartphone from Research In Motion to its offering, namely the Blackberry Curve 3G 9300, but it seems that more of them are coming.

One of these devices should be the recently made official BlackBery Torch 9800, the first smartphone from RIM to run under the new BlackBerry 6 OS, and also the first one to sport a sliding form factor.

According to some of the latest rumors on this, Vodafone UK would plan launching the handset on its airwaves sometime in mid-September, but no specific launch date was unveiled for the time being.

However, it shouldn't be too long before more carriers around the world start bringing the phone to their users, even if it was not such a success in the US on AT&T's network.

As for the second BlackBerry smartphone Vodafone UK is rumored to be readying for launch, it should be the already leaked 9780 device, apparently one and the same as the R020 smartphone that leaked recently on the Internet.

No specific details on its landing emerged for the time being, but we already had the chance to take a closer look at its specs list, which shows about the same capabilities as the BlackBerry Bold 9700.

9780 should include a 2.4-inch HVGA display and a QWERTY keyboard, while being powered by a 624MHz processor, complemented by 512MB of memory.

A 5MP photo snapper and a 1500 mAh battery are also expected to be included into the mix, as well as the new BlackBerry 6 OS, which was spotted on the older Bold 9700 not too long ago.
