The BlackBerry Bold 9780 is one of the yet unannounced high-end devices the Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion is expected to bring to the market in the not too far future. The handset made it to the headlines before, and rumor has it that it would arrive on shelves as an upgraded version of RIM's BlackBerry Bold 9700. Since nothing is official for the time being, we'll still have to wait to learn what this device would turn out to be, but, in the meantime, we can still have a look at it running under the soon-to-be-here BlackBerry 6 OS.

According to a post over at Driphter.com (via BlackBerry Cool), the new BlackBerry Bold 9780 is set to land on the market as a slick device, but it wouldn't be much different than the Bold 9700. The 5-minute walkthrough embedded below shows a little of the features the device would be able to offer to its users courtesy of BlackBerry 6 OS and its pre-loaded Facebook and podcasting applications, or the greatly improved Webkit browser (which should turn out to be one of the hottest features of the upcoming OS version).

According to some of the latest rumors around the Internet, the arrival of BlackBerry 6 OS should bring some major changes into the BlackBerry landscape, including the launch of appealing new device, such as the Bold 9780. The mobile platform has suffered some welcomed modifications, RIM announced, but it can still offer the familiar look and feel many enthusiasts are looking for. However, the development team operated changes at almost all levels of the platform, including its visual appearance.

Recently, Research In Motion started to showcase various features of the platform, and we already had the chance to take a look at screenshots demonstrating the graphical changes in BlackBerry 6, or its multimedia features. It still remains to be seen when the first handsets to run under it would arrive on the market, but chances are that it will all go official on Tuesday, during an event at which some say RIM and AT&T would launch of first ever BlackBerry slider, the 9800.
