LUXGSM and Research In Motion recently announced the launch of the BlackBerry 8800 smartphone to the Luxembourg market. Developed by RIM, the new BlackBerry 8800 is the thinnest BlackBerry handset yet, delivering best-in-class technology in a sleek, elegant design with a premium finish.

A highly advanced smartphone, the BlackBerry 8800 provides mobile users with a range of innovative features, including a built-in Global Positioning System (GPS) and BlackBerry Maps,
allowing users to consult maps for directions and plan itineraries while on the move. The GPS also enables a wide range of other location-based applications and services such as sales force automation, field services and resource tracking.

In addition to providing wireless access to email, phone, Internet, text messaging, organizer and corporate data applications through the popular and proven BlackBerry platform, the BlackBerry 8800 smartphone also features a multimedia and an expandable memory slot (microSD) that allows users to play music and video files.

Elegant and functional, the BlackBerry 8800 smartphone features an intuitive trackball navigation system, full QWERTY ergonomic keyboard and high-resolution display. Other advanced features include voice-activated dialing, international roaming and EDGE network capability as well as Bluetooth support.

An ideal smartphone for successful mobile professionals, the enterprise-ready BlackBerry 8800 allows users to open attachments, including support for JPEG, PDF, Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, as well as providing support for instant messaging and access to a wide range of corporate applications, such as CRM, SFA and business intelligence applications. The BlackBerry 8800 utilizes advanced security features such as AES and Triple DES password encryption and protection.

For corporate customers, BlackBerry Enterprise Server software tightly integrates with Microsoft Exchange, IBM Lotus Domino and Novell GroupWise and works with existing enterprise systems to enable secure, push-based wireless access to email and other corporate data.
