Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion is gearing up for the release of a new series of smartphones in early 2013, with the new BlackBerry 10 operating system version loaded on them right from the start.

Although we had the chance to have a look at various leaked slides with the platform and the supposedly upcoming handsets powered by it, no official info on what to expect from these phones has been unveiled.

However, enthusiasts decided to take the matter into their own hands, and came up with a series of concept phones that could very well become commercially available devices featuring the BlackBerry logo on them.

The latest of these phones comes from Jon Anastasiadis and was designed as a promotional concept for enthusiast website Crackberry.com.

The new BlackBerry 10 concept features a sliding design, in line with the form factor of RIM’s first Torch smartphones.

Packing both a touchscreen display and a QWERTY keyboard, the phone appears to be just the device that any BlackBerry 10 fan would want to buy.

It sports rounded edges, a slim and stylish outer case, and back and front cameras, all packed in a simple yet elegant design.

Moreover, the BlackBerry 10 slider features an Angular Keyboard, since Research In Motion has been recently granted a patent for this kind of keyboard. Additionally, the designer included a micro trackpad between the T and Y keys for increased functionality.

Of course, being a concept device does not necessarily mean that this BlackBerry 10 slider sports features that the commercially available handsets will include.

Hopefully, RIM will be able to pack its upcoming lineup of mobile phones with the most appealing capabilities it can think of, a move that would certainly help it gain some of the market share it has been losing lately.

There’s no telling on whether a BlackBerry 10 slider will actually be released, but Jon Anastasiadis has got you covered on this as well. He also came up with two other BB10 concepts, one featuring a full-touch screen, while the other resembling the Bold 9900 and its physical keyboard. They can be seen in the second and third photos to the left, respectively.
