A new software update has been provided to the owners of BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha devices, namely version 10.0.09.2320.

The new operating system flavor is available for download on devices both over-the-air and via Research In Motion’s update page for those who want to grab it via their PCs.

Before proceeding with the update, users should back up all data on their BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha devices, so as to ensure that no important files are lost in the process.

They should also make sure that the handset’s battery has been charged at least at 20 percent. A working Wi-Fi connection is also required.

Those who would like to learn additional info on how to update their Dev Alpha smartphones should head over to this page on RIM’s developer website.
