BlackBerry has just unveiled, at the BlackBerry Jam event in Amsterdam, it will offer a brand new BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha C device to qualifying developers.

According to BlackBerry, this device is a developer version of the upcoming BlackBerry Q10 device, which is expected to go on sale next month.

With the new BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha C device, developers will be able to create or port applications for the BlackBerry Q10 smartphone which comes with a full QWERTY keyboard and a square display (720 x 720 pixels).

No word on exactly when this device will be handed to developers, but those who wish to apply for one must submit more than two applications.

Hopefully, they will be among the 1,500 lucky winners of the BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha C. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
