Today, Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion announced the availability of app submissions in the BlackBerry App World for all developers who have BlackBerry 10 applications already in the works.

Starting today, October 10, devs can push their BB10 apps to the portal for reviewing and testing, so as to have them available for download / purchase when the upcoming mobile operating system flavor arrives in the first quarter of the next year.

“This is a huge opportunity to be the first into the store and capitalize on app-hungry BlackBerry users,” RIM notes in a blog post.

Developers interested in having their new apps available for the BlackBerry 10 platform can select a new family of devices when in the BlackBerry App World Vendor Portal.

New releases can be targeted at “All Touch” BlackBerry 10 smartphones, RIM notes, adding that developers can still have software aimed at the BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha handset for testing purposes.

“The sooner you get your app submitted to the storefront, the sooner it can be tested for the Built for BlackBerry program; and if it’s tested and certified, you can then qualify for the 10k Developer Commitment,” the mobile phone maker continues.

“To top it off, we’re going to review all apps submitted to BlackBerry App World in October and November for preferred carousel placements at launch as a thank you.”

Application developers who are already working on software for the upcoming BlackBerry 10 operating system, as well as those who are considering making the move, should start using the Developer SDKs Beta 3 that RIM has made available for them in late September.

In fact, the company notes that all those who would like to have their applications pushed to the App World will need to be using this SDK flavor for that.

“Developers, be sure you are using the Beta3 Developer SDKs launched on September 27 to create your applications. Any app previously submitted, needs to be recompiled using the Beta3 Development Software and resubmitted,” the company explains.
