Sprint customers who own a BlackBerry 10 OS smartphone will pleased to know that the carrier has just started the rollout of the long-awaited BlackBerry 10.2.1 update.

Although BlackBerry has released the major software update for quite a long time, Sprint is only the third US-based carrier that makes BlackBerry 10.2.1 available to its customers.

As CrackBerry points out, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless already offered the update last month, so if your BlackBerry smartphone has been purchased through retail channels of either of these two carriers, you should already be on OS 10.2.1.

While Sprint has yet to issue an official statement, it appears that many BlackBerry owners report that they have received the update. So, if you are a Sprint customer and own a BlackBerry 10 smartphone, you should start checking for 10.2.1 update.

There are lots of new features and improvements included in this update, including Wi-Fi Direct, Miracast (which has recently been added to Windows Phone 8.1 as well), Share Screen, Flashlight app and many more.

Many of the applications that came with BlackBerry 10 OS have now been updated with new features and fresh design, such as: Device Monitor, Data Monitor, Media Player, BBM. Have you received the update yet?
