The Cosmo Black and Ice White Nintendo 3DS models that have been sold in Japan ever since the portable console made its debut there will soon be discontinued, in order to make room for the other versions of the handheld.

The 3DS, despite a rocky start due to its high price, has slowly started accumulating lots of fans around the world, especially after the price cut and the introduction of the 3DS XL version that boasted bigger screens.

Now, it seems that Nintendo is going to operate some changes to its lineup and will discontinue the production of the Black and White 3DS models.

These two versions, according to Siliconera, were the last to come with 2GB SD cards, as all the rest have 4GB ones.

Nintendo is also getting ready to debut the 2DS version of the handheld in the following months.
