Nintendo's Wii has been around for three years now and even though it proved to be everything it promised, that being an endless source of fun, people still managed to find things to complain about. Apparently, one of them was the lack of color variation. At first, it might be a bit weird that people so focused on playing video games are so in touch with fashion trends, color choices and accessorizing but then again the Wii isn't a platform for hardcore gamers. Fans of games like Wii Fit and Wii Sports aren't really the ones that make up the annoying mass of the discontent trolls.

Even though Japan had access to another color option for the console itself as well as the controller, the rest of the world didn't. Now the U.S. will have a chance to get the Wii Remote in a cooler, darker shade. So all those who want to get their hands on the New Super Mario Bros. Wii will now have a chance to make one big purchase and do so with some black controllers for their console.

This brand-new, at least for America, black Wii Remote will be packed with a black Wii MotionPlus accessory, meant to give a more accurate in game control. The MotionPlus is an improved take on the original Wii Remote that helps to better identify and recognize the player's gestures and deliver them as game controls. The retail price of the package will be $49.99 while a black “Chuck's nun” will be sold separately for $19.99.

"The Wii Remote revolutionized not only how people play games, but also who plays them," Cammie Dunaway, executive vice president of Sales & Marketing for Nintendo America, said. "The new color lets people customize their setup, and the controllers make great stocking stuffers for players of any age."
