What you see in the photo above is the egg sac of a spider. It's not any kind of garden variety spider either, it is an egg laid by a black widow.
As you know, the insects are venomous and the Redditor has scrambled to find a solution to a possible infestation.
He has to get rid of it by burning the shoe, although another user suggests freezing it in a Ziploc bag.
"You try telling my wife that I'm going to put a shoe full of black widows in the freezer, and let me know how that goes for ya," he responds.
