In a perfect world people don't need gods, but perfect worlds can't really exist and sooner or later someone, in trouble, desperate, will pray to the heavens for a miracle. This is where you come in. You're a newly born god. It is your decision whether to be a good god or an evil one, the two conscience characters will always try to get you to get to one side or the other. But your heavenly hand is not awe inspiring enough if it doesn't control a creature as mean or as helpful as your personality. Pick your creature (smart monkey, helpful cow or fierce tiger) and raise it. Teach your little creature how to behave, show it all the magical tricks you now and it can learn them too. The chosen creature is your most powerful ally. You'll be measuring your powers with other gods by the strength of your creatures. Villagers will be influenced by your own actions as well as the actions of your buddy. They will even teach the little guy how to dance and admire his stature. In short, you are the guiding hand and your creature's personality reflects best the result of all your actions.
In the game of Good vs Evil any god (that's you) may need some help from time to time because of all those other gods that want to steal your villages for some reason and make your creature hurt really bad. Well, you've come to the right place: a list of tricks as well as some unlockable content is available here.

Black & White Funny Tricks
Evil spinIf you get bored during the tutorial (since there is no way to go around it) or you just want to have a little fun, move the mouse in circles and the evil conscience will start spinning his head.
Funny NamesTired of the names in the game? You want to "customize" them a little? Well, all you need to do is find the file names.txt in the game's directory and edit it with a text editor such as Notepad to put in any names
you desire.
April Fools While in game on April 1st (feel free to change your computer's date - this is worth it) your little monster leaves smiley faces foot prints in the ground instead of the regular foot prints. Playful little creature; it put a smile on my face.
Change Your Creatures' BodyIn the Black & White folder, under Data search for the map Ctr. Here you'll be able to find all the bodies for your creature. Just change the name of the file for your creature (if you have the tiger then the file you're looking for is btiger.CBN) to the name of the creature you want (like brhino.CBN) and you will get the rhino. Don't worry though he still knows all the things you taught your previous creature.
For even more options on your creature's appearance get in the CreatureMesh folder under Data and notice files such as CowGood, CowEvil, CowStrong and others. Make backup copies of your own creature's alignment files and rename the good file to evil to get a good creature looking evil and vice versa. Move the modified files to the CreatureMesh folder and override the existing files. You'll get your new look once you're back in the game.
South Park ParodyIn the first level there is a Silver Reward scroll by the beach involving a few sailors that can't stop singing. If you kill one of them you'll get your share of fun. I advise you to save before you do that however, as helping them out pays off in the fifth level.
Telephone JokeOn the first island draw a sinusoidal out of straight lines starting from the bottom left corner (up, right, down, right, up, right, down). If you draw it correctly you'll hear a phone ring and your consciences will encourage you to answer. Enjoy the developers jokes that are coming.
Black & White Helpful Tricks
Poisoned FoodSometimes, the easiest way to make villagers believe in you is to put them face to face with death. Now, if you're not really the evil type (and don't wish to become one) there is this tiny little trick you can use. Pick up a mushroom (the type doesn't matter) and place it in the Village Store either using your creature or your hand. The food here will turn green and the villagers that eat this food begin coughing and will soon start to die of poisoning. All you need to do now is play the hero god and save them from this unfortunate "natural" calamity. Their belief in you goes up very quickly now, doesn't it?
Unlimited Food and WoodFor some reason magically dropping some food in the middle of the Village Store doesn't pay as much as leaving it at the gate. And I can prove this to you. Simply activate a food miracle and place your hand (in-game hand) over the Village Store door. Quickly press the action button (right mouse button) repeatedly to get a huge amount of food - up to 10,000. Luckily not only food comes this cheap, but also wood. Just have the wood miracle activated instead of the food miracle. Still not enough? I'll share another little secret with you: it also works for supplying wood to the workshop's door and even any new building projects (maybe you can use it at those huge wonders). Just place your hand over one corner of the newly set scaffold and tap that right mouse button. Tap, tap, tap! It's so darn cheap!
White MushroomsTurns up that magic happens for gods too. Wherever you see some small white mushrooms quickly feed them to your creature to slightly increase its growth. Keep the mushrooms coming and you'll soon get your dream giant.
Time ControlThere are some moments in the game when you feel like going crazy. Those villagers seem to build forever and you just have to stick around doing nothing. There are also situations when time seems to compete in a drag race (like when you're fighting another god maybe). Now, if you'd really rather not get a short break, there is a little time trick you can use. Simply hold down the ALT key and press 1 to slow down or 2 to speed up. You never thought of your villagers as workaholics, have you?
Creature HappinessHaving trouble keeping your little buddy happy? An easy way to make get him in a good mood is to go to the creature cave (F5) and apply a tattoo. If the creature likes it (them) he'll smile or even grin. You may want to watch out when you slap him not to be next to anything fragile as he may just destroy it as he balances off his feet.
Easy Prayer PowerDeath is a common thing in the mortal world (and I'm referring here to your villagers), but you can turn that to your advantage. Whenever you hear the whisper "death" quickly press "S" to find the dead person (white label). You can pick up the skeleton and drop it in the bowl at your worship site for an easy 5000 or so prayer power. The bonus is that the game doesn't count it as a sacrifice. You have more time to find the body if you haven't yet built a graveyard, and it's a good way to get your villagers back to work, as they stop mourning once you pick up the skeleton.
Get Belief on Land 3When on the third island (the one where the bad guy captures your creature) press "S" to find a guy called Actor. He will be at the base of a cliff near your starting village. He will make threats and say how you can't hurt him. Pick him up and throw him at a village that you want to capture. The camera will follow him and once he lands, you are free to move your hand even if you are out of your influence. Cast miracles, throw rocks, do whatever you wish to get those unbelievers to believe in you. Further more you can drop him in the sacrificing bowl (as if you were going to sacrifice him) to gain the belief points of those villagers. With this trick the prayer power wastage problem is no more.
Cast spells out of your PowerThe town center scaffold allows a small area of effect around it. You can take advantage of this by moving it one little step at a time closer and closer to the village you want to impress or any other area that you may want to cast a few spells. It's probably the easiest way to cast spells far out of your main area of effect.
Easy Fast Ways to Impress New VillagesFirst you get your influence limit as close as possible to the village you want to take over. The easiest thing to do is poison their food. Wait until everybody dies and pick up one of your own villagers and drop him as a "missionary". All you need to do now is impress him just a bit to get your brand new village. The only trouble is you only have one villager here. Yet I'm sure you'll manage to turn things your way very quickly. If poison is not really your type you can also destroy the village with lightning or fireballs or send your creature to a bloody feast.
