That's in addition to the standard support for PCs of all kinds and tablets

Docking stations usually have USB connectors/cables, so they don't have the ability to interface with much else besides PCs and tablets. That's not the case for the Thermaltake BlacX Urban though.

Instead, the BlacX Urban uses Wi-Fi to link to other devices. And since smartphones all have Wi-Fi these days, that means they can read from whatever SATA HDD you plug in too.

Of course, unlike Windows, the Android OS doesn't have what it takes to recognize the dock, even if the Wi-Fi network finder does see it.

That's easily solved through an app though. Specifically, the TtCloud app available through the Google Play store.

The same goes for iOS. If you have an Apple iPhone or iPad, simply download TtCloud from the App Store, for free.

UPnP protocols are fully supported by the Thermaltake device as well.

Furthermore, Wi-Fi Security Protection via WEP/WPA/WPA2 encryption is implemented, shielding your files from unauthorized use.

Finally, even if Wi-Fi is supposed to be the means of sharing files, there's still USB 3.0 support, for 5 Gbps speeds (though no devices really can use that bandwidth in full yet).

Sadly, while the Thermaltake BlacX Urban WiFi Docking Station does have a full product page ready, the price is still unknown.
