The Sony Ericsson line of music phones is a highly colored one, that's why it's kind of special to see a black W580 model released. The phone will arrive at AT&T in the near future to broaden the handset's target.

Rumors on the possible release of a black version of Sony Ericsson W580 have been going by for some while now. It will finally hit stores from now on and bring some old fashioned diversity to AT&T's line of music phones. The combination between orange and black suits is quite nice, looking almost as good as that of the phone's white version.

This is one of the less popular members of the Walkman line of mobile phones. It renders music just the same, but brings fewer additional evolved features. The phone also includes an FM radio, just as any respectable music phone would. Moreover, it also brings Bluetotoh and USB connectivity, although 3G would have greatly contributed to its popularity with some great data transfer speeds.

Going past this drawback, the device also brings large data storage space for keeping a great number of personal files and music. It loses some points on the 2 inch display screen that leaves a cramming feeling and also on the 2 megapixel camera which should bring only average quality captures. Still, this is a music phone and not a camera one, making this less of an issue. The TrackID service makes it possible for users to identify songs playing.

Overall, there is no difference in specifications between the white Sony Ericsson W580 and the new black version of it, other than that of a 256k memory card included with the older color version.

The black Sony Ericsson W580 will be available from now on at AT&T for USD 80, with a two-year contract.
