Activision has announced a pretty impressive lineup of bands set to contribute tracks to its Guitar Hero series during the month of February. The publisher is saying that for the first time in music game history, Black Sabbath, the grand daddies of metal, are bringing master tracks to a game while more recent bands like 30 Seconds To Mars, Breaking Benjamin and Third Eye Blind are also set to contribute songs that will be instantly recognizable to fans and quite fun to play in Guitar Hero.

The 30 Seconds To Mars Track Pack will be made up of “Attack” and “From Yesterday” taken from “A Beautiful Lie” and of “Kings and Queens,” the initial single taken from their most recent “This Is War” album. The pack is set to come out on February 4.

One week later, fans of Guitar Hero should receive the tracks of alternative metal band Breaking Benjamin, with the pack containing “Sooner or Later” from “We Are Not Alone,” “Until The End” from “Phobia” and “Give Me A Sign” from “Dear Agony.”

On February 18, the most important release of the month pack will arrive with Black Sabbath delivering three tracks: “After Forever,” “Into The Void” and “Sweetleaf,” all taken from their Osbourne period. This pack will be followed by a The Third Eye Blind Track Pack on February 25, featuring “Can You Take Me,” “Losing A Whole Year” and “Never Let You Go.”

All of the above mentioned track packs are set to arrive on the Xbox 360 home console for 440 Microsoft Points. Those interested in picking them up on the Nintendo Wii need to pay 550 Wii Points, while those who wish to play them on the PlayStation 3 need to pay 6 dollars. The tracks can also be picked up individually.
