If you're into artists like Tiffany Evans, Malcolm Jamal Warner, Wyclef Jean, and
Talib Kweli, you should know that this month might just bring one of them (and many others) to an Apple store near you. Apple is announcing live performances in celebration of "Black Music Month."
The Cupertino folks had this to
say about the upcoming gigs: "June is Black Music Month and we're celebrating with an incredible lineup of live performances by hometown heroes at several Apple Retail Store locations. Stop by to hear your favorite artists. You won't want to miss a minute of the beat-dropping, soul-singing, hard-rocking good times."
If you were hoping to see
Cherish perform, it's not going to happen. Apple's website says the girls were supposed to perform at the Perimeter Apple Store, but the show was canceled for one reason or another.
June 1 and 2 saw
Tiffany Evans and
Malcom Jamal Warner perform at the famous SoHo Apple store and the Third Street Promenade Apple store, respectively.
The famous artist/producer
Wyclef Jean will also make an appearance at the Apple Store, SoHo on June 9, 7:00 p.m. The artist will perform music from his recently released album, Carnival, Vol. II: Memoirs of an Immigrant, including the Top 10 single "Sweetest Girl."
MC Lyte is among the singers to be seen at one of the Apple stores this month. The twenty-year music veteran "keeps it fresh by hosting a new show on BET called The Boot, extending her career as a voiceover talent, and even recording new music with the group Almost September." If you live near Third Street Promenade, you will be able to "hear her at her freshest in this exclusive live performance" at this Apple Store on June 20, 7:00 p.m.
The beautiful
Michelle Williams, (who shot to fame as part of Destiny's Child) will be delighting visitors of Apple Store, North Michigan Avenue on June 28, 7:00 p.m, while the last of the performances will held at the San Francisco Apple Store, on June 30, 7:00 p.m., with
E-40 taking the stage.
Be sure to check out the whole list of artists and the stores they'll be performing at on Apple's website.
