After a lengthy period of radio silence, the team behind the Black Mesa project has made a brand new announcement concerning the long-awaited game, saying that a new video is going to be released once enough people “like” its Facebook page.

The original Half-Life is still a great game but, after the appearance of Half-Life 2 and its subsequent episodes, its age is quite apparent.

As such, since 2004, a team of modders has started recreating Half-Life 1 with the Source engine from the second iteration.

Since then, many release dates have come and gone, while a few videos have appeared, but nothing really specific has been revealed.

Now, the team behind the Black Mesa project has made a new announcement, saying that a new piece of media will be revealed once 20,000 people “like” the game’s Facebook page.

As of yet, 17,000 gamers have already liked it and you can do so at this link.

Until then, check out an older trailer for the Black Mesa project above.
