US retailer offers the new Windows 8 at a very special price

Microsoft is already struggling to make Windows 8 as affordable as possible, but an American retailer comes with an offer you can’t refuse.

Office Max will sell the new Windows 8 Pro and Windows 8 Pro Pack boxes for only $29.99 (€23.5), which is $40 (€31.5) cheaper than Microsoft’s price for this particular version.

There’s a catch however. Basically, users who visit the Office Max stores on Black Friday (November 23) will have to pay $59.99 (€47) for a boxed copy of Windows 8.

For that money, they will receive not only the retail version of the operating system, but also a $30 (€23.5) voucher that allows them to buy anything they like from the Office Max stores, Neowin writes.

Obviously, more special offers on Microsoft products are very likely to emerge as we get closer to Black Friday, so we’ll keep you updated.
