Golden Palace releases promo pics taken shortly before model's death

While heavily pregnant with daughter Dannielynn (who is 5 years old now), the late model Anna Nicole Smith agreed to take part in a very revealing photoshoot for Golden Palace. The photos have just been released.

The Daily Mail has two of them, so just follow the link to see them.

They show Anna Nicole covered in thick gold paint and not much else. She's pregnant and it shows. She's also wearing a thick layer of face makeup, including smoky eyes and very bright and a bit smeared red lipstick.

In both photos, she has “GoldenPalace.com” inked across her belly and one of her thighs. She's covering herself with one arm, but there's only so much of her body she can cover with it.

The British tabloid says that Smith had agreed to be a spokesperson for Golden Palace shortly after her son Daniel died in 2006.

The photos were shot sometime later, when arguably she was already besides herself with grief and had turned to drugs to help her cope with the pain.

A spokesperson for Golden Palace says that they've had the photos all along but chose not to release them because they felt it was not appropriate to do so back then.

The timing is just right now, though.

“As big fans of Anna Nicole, we felt a collaborative effort would be mutually beneficial. Unfortunately, the tragic events that followed so closely after the photo shoot proved to be overwhelming for the starlet. Out of respect for her and her family, the campaign was immediately shelved,” says the spokesperson.

Apparently, the idea to pose pregnant and covered in nothing but golden paint to promote a casino was Anna Nicole's idea, one that the company received warmly.

“Like her persona, she wanted to capture the moment by doing something outrageous, memorable, and fun,” the same publicist explains.

Some might argue that, given Smith's fragile state of mind, it would have been a much better idea to never release the photos at all.
