We should expect the device to arrive in September

Everybody is making smartwatches these days including Motorola, Samsung, LG and ASUS. A while ago when Google announced its Android Wear OS, the official partner list included HTC, as well.

Back when @evleaks was still alive, an image of the purported HTC smartwatch surfaced online. Now it’s time for the Chinese @upleaks to take things over and provide us with the continuation of the story.

Today, the Twitter account posted a few new pieces of information about HTC’s first intelligent timepiece which is apparently dubbed WWY.

But the info seems to be a little offbeat. For starters, the leakster claims that the watch will come with a 1.8-inch display. Nothing out of the ordinary here, since LG’s latest comes with a 1.3-inch one, while the Samsung Gear S boasts a 2-inch one.

However, the resolution is said to be just 32x160, which is quite hilarious. Think about it, the LG G Watch R offers 320 x 320 res. Surely, this might be a mistake and the real numbers are in fact 320 x 160.

What’s more, the Twitter account claims the wearable will have a horribly small 100mAh battery. Compare that to the 410mAh one found inside the LG G Watch R, to see what I mean.

The watch is also said to be IP57 rated for water and dust resistance. The leak says we should expect to see the device next month. Will HTC bring it out at IFA? All is possible.
