When it comes to cars, some prefer driving more classic models that run little to no risk of ever going out of style. Others, however, are big fans of four-wheelers that are downright bizarre and that folks cannot help but notice passing by them.

Designer Rex Rosenberg is one of the people in this second category, and his vehicle, pictured next to this article, more than proves it. In fact, this man pretty much takes the idea of driving a wacky car to a whole new level.

For those who haven't quite figured it out – and for those who are having trouble letting what their eyes are telling them sink in – Rex Rosenberg's car, a Subaru he got in 2005, is almost entirely covered in dentures and dental impressions.

The weight of the dentures and dental impressions is estimated to amount to an impressive 140 pounds (63.5 kilograms). As noticeable in the photo, mannequin heads, doll parts, and even toothpaste tubes also adorn this peculiar ride.

According to Oddity Central, the car looked perfectly normal when the designer bought it back in 2005. Thus, it was Rex Rosenberg himself who turned it into the oddity it now is. Apparently, the man is quite proud of his work, and very much likes his Subaru's new look.

While working on this little project of his, Rex Rosenberg got help from somebody ready and willing to donate several dentures and dental molds. Still, he did have to spend quite a lot of money on buying dentures and dental impressions from folks selling them online.

By the looks of it, the designer added the mannequin heads, doll parts, and toothpaste tubes to the mix after realizing that there was no way he was going to get his hands on enough dentures and dental molds to be able to cover the vehicle in its entirety.

The designer began work on this project in 2005, shortly after acquiring the car, and finished in May 2006. The items now adorning his car all sport a coat of clear finish, hence the fact that they can withstand rain, snow and the like without sustaining too much damage.

Since it first got out in the world until present day, the odd vehicle, known as the ChewBaru, has covered over 90,000 miles (144,840 kilometers) and has had the chance to visit as many as 38 states. Rex Rosenberg says that, of the people who have until now seen it, some simply adored it and others were completely repulsed by it.

The designer has absolutely no intention to hide his creation in a garage anytime soon, and says that he plans on taking his ChewBaru on many more road trips across the US. Thus, he wishes to continue displaying it at art car shows organized in various states. During such journeys, the ride is protected by infrared night vision video cameras which let Rex know if anyone vandalizes or gets too close to it.
