14 DAY TRIAL // Following the RTM (release to manufacturing) of BizTalk Server 2010, Microsoft is providing customers with the resources necessary to streamline the building of an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) for the Microsoft Platform. The Microsoft BizTalk Server 2010 ESB Toolkit has been released at the start of this week on the Microsoft Download Center, and is up for grabs for customers looking to take their messaging and integration solutions to the next level.
As was the case with previous ESB resources for BizTalk Server, the latest iteration of the toolkit brings to the table not only a set of BizTalk Server and .NET Framework components, but also the architectural guidance and patterns designed to simplify the development of enterprise-scale solutions for BizTalk.
“The toolkit also provides capabilities to help developers extend existing messaging and integration solutions,” Microsoft stated.
“The BizTalk Server 2010 ESB Toolkit consists of a collection of interoperating components that support and implement a loosely coupled messaging environment.
“This environment simplifies the process of building dynamic message-based enterprise applications.”
Back in mid-2009, the software giant was releasing BizTalk ESB Toolkit 2.0 for BizTalk Server 2009.
Over a year later, the BizTalk Server 2010 ESB Toolkit is tailored to the RTM version of BizTalk Server 2010, and the successor of BizTalk ESB Toolkit 2.0.
As such, customers will notice that the Redmond company also refers to BizTalk Server 2010 ESB Toolkit as BizTalk ESB Toolkit 2.1.
Microsoft noted that in order “to get started with BizTalk Server 2010 ESB Toolkit, download one or more of the following:
•BizTalk ESB Toolkit 2.1-x64.msi:to install BizTalk Server 2010 ESB Toolkit on a 64-bit edition of the operating system
•BizTalk ESB Toolkit 2.1-x86.msi:to install BizTalk Server 2010 ESB Toolkit on a 32-bit edition of the operating system
•Readme.htm
•Installing BizTalk 2010 ESB Toolkit 2.1.htm: includes Getting Started information and Known Issues.”
The latest iteration of BizTalk Server was released for manufacturing in the second half of September 2010. BizTalk Server 2010 RTM hit commercial availability on October 1st.
