Chinese company Biwin has decided to make its SSDs slimmer than the current incarnations and, thus, has just introduced drives with just 7-millimeter thickness. This means that the new additions to Biwin’s product line are packed in a 26% slimmer profile.

Biwin’s drives are SATA3-capable and now they will fit more easily into slim devices that require 7 mm compatibility, like UltrasBooks and tablets.

The company has also reportedly introduced the new NuvoDrive NX and NuvoDrive PX 2.5” SATA3 SSDs with storage capacities up to 480 GB, and these new drives also fit in the same 7-millimeter thickness limitation.

The new casing is made of black anodized aluminum that will protect the chips inside, handle the passive cooling and confer a light weight to the component.
