Scammers have published videos on YouTube and links on Facebook apparently advertising Bitdefender Antivirus Plus 2015. The security company warns users to beware of such schemes.

The 2015 suite is still in the works, so any websites promising this version of Bitdefender’s security solutions should be avoided.

“Bitdefender Antivirus Plus 2015 has been launched. Bitdefender Antivirus Plus has got many advanced features that make it better than most of the other antivirus softwares [sic] available in the market,” the scammers wrote in the description of the YouTube video they’ve published.

When victims click on the link, they’re told to pass a human verification process to download the software. Users are instructed to complete the verification by downloading content, accessing online games or by testing their intelligence.

Ultimately, no one gets to download Bitdefender Antivirus Plus 2015. Instead, internauts are lured to all sorts of shady websites, including premium SMS scams designed to replicate Facebook.

Scammers are also trying to lure users by promising license keys for Bitdefender Total Security. The Facebook profiles and the YouTube channels with the fake ads have been reported by Bitdefender.

If you want to download or purchase Bitdefender products, do it only from the company’s website or from trusted sources.
