After the scandal around Carrier IQ’s tracking software broke out, many individuals started to wonder whether their phones had the controversial package installed on their devices or not. To come to their aid, Bitdefender released a simple application that identifies the presence of the tool.
Bitdefender Carrier IQ Finder is a simple app designed for Android devices that will almost instantly tell smartphone owners if their moves are monitored by the phone companies.
Unfortunately, the app hasn’t got the power to remove Carrier IQ’s software since it’s integrated into the machine’s firmware, but at least it will tell you if it’s there or not.
Many wireless carriers and vendors quickly denied ever relying on the services offered by Carrier IQ and, even if the company denies that their tool is tracking every keystroke, Trevor Eckhart showed that its capabilities would certainly allow it to do so.
