Vuze, a BitTorrent client previously known as Azureus, which is built on Java, has reached version 5.4.0.1 Beta 4 and is now available for download.

Vuze is a relatively BitTorrent client that can be used to download torrents and that even acts as a search engine. The Vuze developers usually released numerous Beta versions before a stable iteration is made available. Now, a new development cycle has begun after the release of Vuze 5.4 and a fresh Beta is ready for download.

According to the changelog, a few features have been added to the Speed Limit Scheduler, 'IP Sets' have been renamed to 'Peer Sets' because they could have denoted that more than just peers were selected by IP, tag restriction support has been added to Peer Sets, a network selection option has been added (use 'Public', 'I2P' or 'Tor' as required), and the rate limiting support for Peer Sets has been updated in order to include 'Disabled' for upload and download rates.

Check out the announcement for a complete list of updates and new features. You can also check out our Vuze review, although it's for a slightly older version.
