Vuze Client, an end-to-end application that acts as a complete BitTorrent downloader without slowing down the computer, is now at version 5.2

Vuze BitTorrent Client is a relatively lightweight BitTorrent client that can be used to download torrents and even acts as a search engine.

After a lot of development versions, 50 to be more exact, the Vuze developers have finally decided that it was time to make the jump to the 5.2 version.

According to the changelog, better organization of torrents files is now possible with the introduction of color-coding for tags (color is applied to the sidebar for the tag), several improvements have been made to the torrent file experience overall (users can specify a folder destination for torrents once the download has been completed), and a menu option has been added in the notification area to dismiss all notifications.

Highlights Vuze 5.2:

• The Persist column add/remove has been implemented via the header menu; • Table structure change is no longer losing a tag listener and subsequently failing to update correctly; • Multiple concurrent torrent additions is no longer causing duplicate dialogs; • Unloading a plugin is no longer causing second plugins images to be disposed; • The search bar is no longer truncating long URIs; • The performance of timer event handling has been improved; • The ‘upload only’ message support has been fixed; • The unnecessary retry on downloads has been removed; • An option to have multiple torrent-options screens on a single dialog has been fixed; • Automatic tagging of downloads based on their trackers has been implemented. • The magnet plugin is now handling URIs with ‘xt’ sections properly; • The ‘do not activate UI’ option is now respected when adding a download.
