FrostWire, a BitTorrent client (formerly a Gnutella client) that’s the result of a collaborative effort of hundreds of open source and freelance developers, is now at version 5.7.2.

The Frostwire client can be used to send large files and folders. It features BitTorrent and Magnet Link support and is Kindle-compatible, but these are just a few of the features that we can expect from the software.

It's been quite a while since the previous FrostWire update, but the developers have returned with somewhat of a surprise, which is uTP support.

“Some users have complained about what happens to their internet connection when using FrostWire heavily, so we’ve finally added uTP support to solve these issues. FrostWire can now deal with bandwidth congestion issues in a way that won’t compromise your internet experience while you use it,” reads the official blog.

FrostWire 5.7.2 brought more than just a few changes and improvements. For example, single-file torrents now can be played from transfer list, an UI Thread freeze that occurred when opening Options > Search has been fixed, and the error reporting has been improved.
