Announced by BitFenix all the way back in September of 2010, the Shinobi gaming series of PC chases has finally hit the store shelves for as low as $59, making it an ideal option for users interested in building a budget desktop system.

The series is actually made up of just two models, and both of them share nearly identical specifications, except for a side panel window that is only available in the BitFenix Shinobi Window.

Inside, the chassis can accommodate a wide variety of hardware, including long graphics cards (such as the soon-to-be-released AMD Radeon HD 6990), and up to three 5.25" optical drives or eight 3.5" hard drives.

Those who want to install 2.5-inch hard drives or solid state disks will also be glad to know the Shinobi comes with a 5.25-inch drive bay adapter built especially for this purpose.

In addition, the case can be configured with up to seven 120mm fans (two can be upgraded to 140mm) and features removable filtered fan intakes as well as a large cutout on the motherboard tray, which enables users to swap the CPU cooler without having to remove the motherboard.

As it's usually the case with BitFenix chassis, the top and front covers use the company's SofTouch Surface Treatment that lends a matte finish and soft feel while resisting fingerprints and stains.

“We wanted to create a no-nonsense gaming chassis that was not only functional, but also exuded the killer design concept that BitFenix is known for.

“I believe that with Shinobi, gamers will get to see what we mean first hand,” says BitFenix Product Manager David Jarlestedt.

As far as pricing is concerned, the BitFenix Shinobi is available for $59 while the Shinobi Window is listed at $69. In Europe prices are set at 49€ and 59€ (incl. 19% VAT), respectively.
