One of the leading global providers of security solutions, BitDefender has announced today the release into open beta of BitDefender Mobile
Antivirus v2, an antivirus scanner designed to protect mobile devices (like PDAs and smartphones) which are running Symbian 60, Symbian 80 or Windows Mobile as an operating system.

The new software is in open beta and offers on-access protection against malware doubled by on-demand scanning and can be updated either via GPRS from the service provider or via ActiveSync from an Internet-connected PC.

"This is a chance for end-users and service providers at large to have a preview of form and functionality to be included in our new product. If BitDefender Mobile Antivirus Beta gets adopted by our beta testers community as eagerly as previous beta versions were, I think we may just have a winner on our hands in the fight for the mobile market," declared Carmen Maierean, BitDefender Product Marketing Manager.

Users that want to test this antivirus software can download it from here.
