Bit.Trip Runner 2 came out last week across the PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U platforms, but quite a few players have already begun complaining of various issues and glitches, including a variety of things on the Wii U and a pretty serious corrupt save-game problem on the Xbox 360.

Bit.Trip Runner 2, or more specifically Bit.Trip Presents Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien, arrived last week and impressed many of the franchise's fans by delivering a stunning sequel to the already-great Runner 1.

Sadly, it seems that the title – made by independent studio Gaijin Games – has encountered a few issues on some of its different platforms.

The most serious ones appeared on the Wii U, where owners of the game are reporting freezes, increased loading times, and problems with different settings.

Gaijin has already posted a statement on its forums, saying that an update is going to appear soon enough.

- At the start of the game, when it asks you if you want to log in, we've added some feedback so it doesn't look like the game is hanging. - The leaderboards will only save your highest score, as expected, instead of your most recent score, which it does now. - If you lose your internet connection during play, we've allowed you to reconnect by going to the leaderboards menu. - We've fixed false score reporting for in-game Rewards. - We've fixed an issue with the level start mini-leaderboard telling you you're offline when you're actually online. It will populate this list with global scores if you don't have any friends who have played the game yet. - We've fixed an issue in the settings menu that resets your settings every time you enter the menu.

The studio explained that such issues didn’t happen on its developer versions of the Wii U, so it seems Nintendo is at fault for implementing some changes in the retail editions of the console.

Besides the Wii U problems, Xbox 360 owners are also reporting a save-game corruption glitch, which happens when they fail a retro level and deletes their progress.

No apparent fix is scheduled to appear just yet, but you can expect an update for the Xbox 360 edition to be detailed soon enough.
