Biostar and MSI, two of the world's leading vendors of motherboards and desktop graphics cards, have recently updated their motherboard lineup with the introduction of a new series of products based on the new Intel G41 multimedia platform. Enabling support for Windows 7 operating systems and HTPC platforms, these motherboards provide users with a series of enhancements over Intel's previous generation of G31-based platforms, including support for DDR3 and DirectX 10 and extended support for several connectivity ports.

Kicking off with Biostar Microtech International, the company has just announced the introduction of a new series of motherboards based on the aforementioned G41 chipset from Intel, according to a recent news-article on Digitimes. The new lineup includes several motherboards, all of which are designed to support Intel processors and enable users with the performance of the integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500 GPU. Part of the new Biostar series, we should mention the new T41 HD, G41D3G, G41 DVI and G41-M7 models.

Being among the leading vendors of motherboards, MSI has also put Intel's G41 chipset to good use, launching a series of new products based on said platform. Part of the new series, MSI has made available no less than 7 boards, including the G41M-FIDP, G41M-FD, P41T-C33, P41T-C31, G41M-F and the flagship G41TM-E43, as well as the G41TM-E63. Designed using solid capacitors, the new models have been featured with embedded D-Sub, DVI and HDMI ports. In addition, MSI has included the Easy OC Switch technology, which will enable users to easily overclock their PCs through the BIOS-located “Switch.”

The new motherboards from Biostar and MSI will provide enthusiasts with a series of enhancements over the previous generation of platforms, including support for both DDR2 and DDR3 memory, DirectX 10, movie media enhancement and Intel's Clear Video technology, neither of which is available for G31 motherboards.
