It can receive any multi-core A-Series or E-Series processor

Most of AMD's A-Series and E-Series of accelerated processing units are designed with a pinout compatible with FM2 and/or FM2+ sockets, so that's the kind of hardware Biostar chose for the Hi-Fi A88S3.

In Hi-Fi A88S3+, Hi-Fi is a shortened form of “high fidelity” and refers to the Puro HiFi audio technology.

In fact, as part of the 6+ Experience feature set, the “Audio+” asset provides 3D Audio, True Blu-Ray Audio, 3D HiFi Amp and 3D Smart Ear.

“Video+” features are included as well, with a Dual-Link DVI port providing resolutions up to 2560x1600, and full HDMI 3D 1080p playback.

“Speed+” is another thing, including support for SmartSpeedLAN (free software application that monitors and manages your PC's network behavior). Charger Booster is also included, for charging Apple devices very fast.

Then there's “Protection+” which gives users high-quality ESD (Electro-Static Discharge) protection for the front I/O panel.

“Durability+” complements that with 100% solid capacitors (armor-plated Biostar Technology), for extended lasting life cycle, durability and stability.

Finally, “DIY+” allows users to configure their PC according to their tastes via UEFI BIOS stands for (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface BIOS), even remotely. Add to that an onboard power switch and an LED indicator (shows CPU power, MB power, CPU, memory and PCI-E, SATA for error states) and all bases are covered.

As for the actual, base specifications, here they are: four DDR3 DIMM memory slots, SATA 6.0 Gbps storage support, USB 3.0 technology and AMD Dual Graphics (allows the APU-integrated GPU to join forces with certain AMD add-in video cards).

Unfortunately, Biostar did not say what price the Hi-Fi A88S3+ had, but it shouldn't be too outrageous, since this is a micro-ATX platform for HTPCs, meaning that it's supposed to be used in entry-level and mid-range multimedia computers. Even though it does have a PCI-E x16 3.0 Slot (among others).
