Women would literally pay thousands of dollars for face creams and anti-wrinkle treatments that lack any scientific backing, but with the Bioeffect EGF Serum, that will not be the case. Here is a treatment that hails all the way from Iceland and that has better results than Botox.

EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor)-based serums are not new to the market, but this particular product has the potential to break the mold because the EGF in it is the most pure ever created in a laboratory.

A 15ml bottle sells for £125, which, though expensive, is far from breaking the bank – and studies shows that it has better results after 6 weeks than the invasive Botox injection, the Daily Mail reports.

EGF is a molecule that occurs naturally in the skin and is the strongest anti-ageing agent available, the publication says. Basically, it helps aging cells act like they’re young again, which means aging skin regains some of its youthfulness, while wrinkles are smoothened.

EGF is so strong that it acts not only on wrinkles (it also helps skin retain moisture for longer and this too helps with the wrinkles), but it also brings a definite improvement to crepey eyelids, which are the most difficult to make appear young again.

Researchers in Iceland create EGF in bio-engineered barley plants, which are kept in volcanic ash, which makes this serum far more efficient than any other similar product on the market because the EGF in it is also the purest.

Aside from returning better results with wrinkles than Botox, Bioeffect is also much easier to apply: it only takes two drops of it a day to see wrinkles banished in 6 weeks.

“EGF is one of the few ingredients that really does work. It improves cell turnover and stimulates collagen growth, which helps firm up skin,” skincare developer Antonia Brann of LumosSkincare says for the Mail.

With such recommendations, it’s no wonder the US is getting ready to welcome Bioeffect as the truly revolutionary product it is.

“Dr. [Rodney] Moy, president-elect of the American Association of Dermatologists, has secured a license to include the Icelandic EGF in a line of products he is selling at £309 a set,” says the Mail.

“Already, research has shown that using Bioeffect’s EGF serum twice a day for six weeks showed ‘better results than invasive treatment with Botox’,” the same publication writes.

There is a deep dive science review of Bioeffect EGF at www.barefacedtruth.com.

Some highlights:

1. Topically applied EGF, without counterbalancing cytokines, will cause epidermal cells to proliferate, plumping up the skin, but doing so in a non-physiologic, uncoordinated fashion.

2. The site of action is the epidermis itself, as most of the growth factor will be unabsorbed anyway, in the absence of a specialized transport vehicle. Even if it did reach the dermis, EGF has minimal effect on fibroblasts and thus has severely limited capability to alter the architecture of true wrinkles.

3. EGF is an effective depilatory agent, popular among sheep farmers as an effective way to strip wool from the hides of their animals. Watch your eyebrows and hairline!

4. EGF is a potent mitogen, but not a mutagen. As such it is not cancer causing, but once a cancer gets started, ECG can cause it to grow rapidly.

6. EGF derived from barley through a process known as transgenic pharming has its own set of concerns. See complete review for details.
