The gamer never before played such an important role

Mark Darrah, the executive producer working on Dragon Age: Inquisition, tells fans of the series that one of the major themes of the game will be the way leadership changes individuals and the sacrifices they have to make in order to be effective in their position.

He tells Gamespot that, “This is the first time we’ve really put you in a leadership position. We’ve put you in, kind of, command positions in the past, but not really in a place where you’re actually in control of an organization that has to go out and do things.”

In the first two Dragon Age titles, gamers were able to command their party members and have some limited influence on the world around them via major decisions.

But in Inquisition, the team wants them to feel like the entire fate of their allies and maybe even the world rest on their shoulders, while giving them the resources required to accomplish other tasks, if used effectively.

Basically, the Inquisition as an organization and its agents will function as extensions of the player, allowing him to perform actions at the same time in many areas of the game world.

But the gamer and his chosen party will remain the most powerful force in the game world and they will take on the toughest enemies and the most important quests.

Darrah adds, “It’s about that next level of ability. You’re still the one going and doing most of the fighting. You’re using them more as the force that comes in behind you to hold the territory, to clean up, and give you that extra bit of oomph when you need it.”

BioWare says that it wants player actions to be more important than ever in Inquisition, with clear consequences not only for choices but even for physical acts performed in the game world.

The studio has delivered an impressive new trailer for the coming BioWare, which shows the beauty of the game world that’s being created using the Frostbite 3 engine.

The company has also said that the new title will address all the criticism that fans have delivered after Dragon Age 2 and will create an experience inspired by the most important elements of the role-playing genre.

Dragon Age: Inquisition will be out all over the world on October 7 and will be playable on the Xbox One from Microsoft, the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the PC.
