Expect plenty of new content to arrive for Mass Effect 3 after its release

Mass Effect 3 hasn’t even been released and its studio, BioWare, already confirms that a “really good” DLC plan has been set up to support both its single-player campaign and its cooperative multiplayer mode.

Mass Effect 3 is set to conclude the series started by BioWare many years ago. Just like with previous games, players should expect quite a few add-ons to appear, either with new missions or companions, as well as with some fresh content for the all-new Galaxy at War co-op mode that’s included in the new title.

According to Mass Effect 3 producer Casey Hudson, the DLC plan is already set up to ensure that players will keep on experiencing both the single-player and the multiplayer mode after they’ve finished the story.

"We are going to be supporting Mass Effect 3 for quite some time, because I think people are going to have a lot of fun with multiplayer, and we'll be supporting that with new content as we go forward," Hudson told CVG.

"We also have a really good DLC plan, like we had for Mass Effect 2, so there will be new adventures and new things to do. Then, beyond that, we'll just have to wait and see."

Both Mass Effect 1 and 2 were supported with plenty of new single-player adventures, including the stunning Lair of the Shadow Broker, which appeared for the second game, or the Arrival add-on, which connected the second and third titles.

Now that the new title has a multiplayer mode, you can expect some of the DLC to bring new maps, characters and add-ons for it, instead of focusing completely on the single-player story.

Whatever the new content will be, however, expect BioWare to really focus on enriching the already impressive experience that’s included in the third game.

Mass Effect 3 is out on March 6, in North America, and March 9, in Europe, on the PC, PS3 or Xbox 360.
