BioWare has offered an expanded statement about the delay of Dragon Age: Inquisition, emphasizing just how much work has been put into the game by the development team and how the extra month means an even better RPG at launch.

Dragon Age: Inquisition has been in development for a long time, and over the past few months BioWare has been slowly lifting the veil off the medieval fantasy role-playing game, its mechanics, its characters, and its story.

Recently, an October release date was confirmed, but yesterday BioWare and Electronic Arts stepped forward to announce that a one-month delay had been made to Inquisition.

Instead of launching right in the middle of October, the new title is set to appear in the middle of November.

BioWare's Executive Producer on Dragon Age: Inquisition, Mark Darrah, talks about the delay on the official website and emphasizes the monumental work put into the RPG by his team.

"Since we began working on Dragon Age: Inquisition almost four years ago, our goal was to create the best Dragon Age experience ever. It was that goal that motivated many of our decisions: moving to Frostbite, bringing race choice and customization back, improving tactical camera, building a team of characters whose relationships evolve based on your actions, and most importantly, crafting an epic, nation-spanning story that both draws upon past games and takes you to many new places in the realm of Thedas."

According to the developer, the last stretch of the creation process means polishing the huge amount of game content, fixing all sorts of bugs, and improving the general experience in the RPG. As such, it wants to take a few extra weeks and make sure that players will be delighted when they get to experience the new title.

"I’m privileged to be a part of a team that has been working very hard to surpass every measure they’ve set for themselves. That has meant completing huge amounts of game content, fixing bugs both big and small, and improving the overall experience."

"We appreciate the enormous support we’ve received from all of you to get to this point, and while this extra few weeks may not seem like a lot, I know the game you’ll play will be all the better for it."

Dragon Age: Inquisition is now set to appear for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on November 18 in North America and November 21 in Europe. Until then, you can check out some more screenshots with the game below.
