Unusual partnership

Two of the most interesting publishers of the final few years, Bethesda Softworks and 2K Games, are partnering up so that they can deliver a special bundle of their hits, The Older Scrolls IV: Oblivion and BioShock. The package is set to arrive on the Xbox 360 and on the PC.

The retail BioShock & The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Bundle should be offered on July 7 in North America and will cost 39.99 dollars if you plan to get it for the Xbox 360, and just 29.99 dollars if players are interested on the PC as a platform. One weird fact is that the package only contains the original release of Oblivion, none of the released expansions being included.

This basically means that in order to get the full game experience, players will need to go to Bethesda and get the other content, like Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles. Fortunately, BioShock has no expansions released, so you get it all with the new bundle.

If you are interested in getting all The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion content that Bethesda put out, then take a look on Steam, where you can get the original game for 13.99 dollars and all the content for 34.99. Bethesda is interested in offering as many as possible ways to get Oblivion, with a special release of the game also planned for later in 2009.

Both games in the bundle are set to get sequels in the coming years. We already know quite a lot about BioShock 2, which is being created by 2K Marin and will set the player in the role of the prototype Big Daddy as the game returns to Rapture in search of a Big Sister. Bethesda Game Studios is also likely developing a sequel to Oblivion, as it has recently announced that Obisidian would be tasked with creating Fallout: New Vegas, which would run a parallel story to Fallout 3.
