Microsoft has announced that several of the titles it is offering on its digital distribution service Games on Demand, designed for the Xbox 360 home gaming console, have had their price reduced from 29.99 to 19.99 dollars.

The titles that interested gamers can now pick up on the cheap are the original BioShock, the first Saints Row, Prey, MX vs. ATV and Civilization Revolution. The price reduction will probably be extended to more titles from Games on Demand in the coming weeks.

One of the big disappointments with Games on Demand has been the fact that older videogames were offered for a pretty high price, considering that players can pick them up used at their local stores for probably half the money and that, for those who have a PC port, Steam and other digital distribution services are also offering them for a lower price. If Microsoft manages to take down the price for all the titles it puts up to a more reasonable 9.99 dollars, it might create some interest amongst gamers.

In another two weeks, the Microsoft service will also be getting Dead Rising, the Capcom title which focuses on Frank West, a photographer who needs to battle his way through hordes of zombies. With Dead Rising 2 set to arrive in April, including on the Xbox 360, players might be interested in picking up the original to see what they have missed.

Xbox 360 gamers who would like to play a military minded shooter other than the ubiquitous Modern Warfare 2 can go to Games on Demand to get Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2. Players can also pick up the first Kane & Lynch title if they are so inclined. Major Nelson has announced that starting with Friday at 12 Eastern Time, Microsoft is offering Last.fm for free for those users who only have an Xbox Live Silver membership.
