After months of absolutely no details, the downloadable content for BioShock 2 is finally dated for launch on the PC platform, according to a new update made by 2K Games.

Seeing as how quite a lot of time has passed since the company confirmed that it would be bringing the two downloadable add-ons, Protector Trials and Minerva's Den, to the PC, 2K made another announcement.

In it, the company said that the Protector Trials expansion was in the certification phase, and that it would arrive "at the end of January."

The other DLC, Minerva's Den, is still in development, but it might arrive around the beginning of March on the PC platform.

BioShock 2 has been launched at the beginning of last year, and since then, has received two big downloadable add-ons, in the form of the Protector Trials and Minerva's Den, besides additional maps and features for its multiplayer mode.

Sadly, the content was only released on consoles, specifically the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, while the PC platform received no actual details.

In October of last year, however, 2K Games made an announcement saying that it had scrapped the plans to bring any of the DLC as well as other updates for BioShock 2 on the PC.

The plans were motivated because of "technical problems" which would be a waste of time for the developers at the 2K Marin studio.

The company quickly changed its mind, largely due to the angry fan response, and said that it would still bring the add-ons to the PC, but that it might take some time to complete them.

While this is certainly a bit late, plenty of loyal BioShock fans will definitely be pleased that they will have another chance to get back to the underwater city of Rapture, where the action of BioShock 2 takes place.
