Microsoft continues to work on its applications and add support for the latest features offered by the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system. The latest app to receive support for the new OS is Bing Translator for Windows Phone.

Version 3.X promises to bring Bing Translator users support for Windows Phone 8.1. Aside from the new improvement, Microsoft also added a Transparent Live Tile.

Additionally, Voice translation for Chinese might have been added in one of the recent 3.X updates as well. Aside from that, no other new features or under the hood improvements have been confirmed for this update.

For those who have yet to take advantage of Bing Translator on their Windows Phone handsets, the application allows users to translate text into more than 40 languages.

It also provides users with the option to translate by speaking into their phones. Keep in mind that voice translation requires Internet connection. Last but not least, the application offers text to speech feature, which allows users to hear translations spoken with a native speaker’s accent.

You can now download Bing Translator for Windows Phone for free via Windows Phone Store. Keep in mind that the application should now be fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 7.5 and up.
